Service 1 — Companion Visits
$35/hour
A scheduled visit at the senior’s home.
Activities can include:
- conversation
- reading
- games
- puzzles
- watching a favourite program together
- looking through photographs
- hobbies
- walks, where appropriate
- general social interaction
Regular Senior Check-In
$30/hour
For seniors who don’t necessarily need a long visit.
Examples:
- 30–60 minute visit
- telephone check-in
- general reassurance
- make sure the client is doing well
- identify whether they need help contacting family
I’d offer:
30-minute check-in — $20
60-minute visit — $30
Errands & Shopping Assistance
$40/hour + expenses where applicable
Examples:
- grocery shopping
- pharmacy pickup
- returning merchandise
- post office
- library
- small personal errands
- accompanying the senior shopping
Senior Technology Assistance
$45/hour
Help seniors learn:
- smartphones
- texting
- FaceTime
- Zoom
- photographs
- smart TVs
- tablets
- online appointments
- basic online government services
- video calling children/grandchildren
- printer/scanner use
- password organization
Cyber-safety assistance
Social Outings & Activity Companion
$40–$45/hour
Examples:
- shopping mall
- library
- coffee shop
- community centre
- park
- restaurant
- community event
- religious/community gathering
- walking
- hobby activity
Appointment Companion
$45/hour
You accompany the senior to:
- doctor’s appointment
- dental appointment
- optometrist
- physiotherapy appointment
- government office
- ServiceOntario
- other appointments
Our role would be companion/escort, not medical advocate or medical decision-maker.
Light Household Assistance
$40/hour
Keep this deliberately light.
Examples:
- light tidying
- organizing
- changing bed linens
- laundry
- taking garbage/recycling out
- simple meal preparation
- organizing cupboards
- light sweeping/vacuuming
Family Check-In Service
Family Peace-of-Mind Updates
$30–$35/hour
- Doors and windows are secured
- cameras are operating properly
- no tripping hazards or obstacles
- no insect infestation
- general cleanliness
- mail is received and checked for importance
- other support staff are performing to standards
- making sure everything in the home is safe and secure
Services I would NOT provide
I would specifically exclude:
